The Aegean Reading Room
Editorial policy & submission terms
What we publish, how we select it and how we handle your information. Effective 17 October 2026.
Selection & independence
We select for editorial fit, substance, available reading access and capacity. Our interests include literary and psychological fiction, relationships, emotional narratives and independent authorship. Submission is free. It does not guarantee acceptance, a reply by a particular date, coverage or a favourable verdict. We do not exchange positive reviews or manipulate retailer ratings.
Reviews, previews & interviews
A full review requires lawful access to and examination of the complete relevant work. We do not derive full reviews from summaries, blurbs or excerpts. Previews, author profiles and promotional presentations are labelled separately. Interviews contain real author responses. Quotations, publication facts and external links must be checked; unverified details are omitted.
AI assistance & accountability
AI tools materially assist drafting and preparation of the launch essays. We disclose material assistance on each relevant piece. We do not invent human reviewers, reading experiences, quotations or interviews. AI output alone is not evidence. Every future review must pass checks for source access, factual accuracy, quotation accuracy, permissions and appropriate disclosure before publication.
Our publishing relationship
The Reading Room is an editorial section of Aegean Publishing, an imprint of Aegean Astraea. Our own catalogue links are clearly presented as books from our imprint. They are not independent third-party criticism. Review copies, sponsorship, affiliate links or other relevant relationships will be disclosed beside the affected coverage. Launch journal articles contain no paid placements or affiliate links.
Submission terms
Submit only if you are 18 or older and authorised to represent the book. Send a synopsis and official link, not a manuscript or sensitive personal information. Submission permits private evaluation and contact about the enquiry; it does not transfer copyright or grant public reproduction rights. We will seek any necessary permission for covers, photographs, extracts and other supplied material before use. There is no publication agreement or payment obligation.
Submission privacy
We collect the name, email, title, genre, synopsis, publication status, links and optional note you provide, together with receipt time, consent-version record and editorial status. We use these to evaluate your enquiry, prevent duplicate requests and abuse, and communicate about possible coverage. Contact details and unpublished submission material are not public. They are held in a private, access-controlled queue on our existing hosting/database infrastructure (Lovable and Supabase). We do not automatically retrieve the contents of submitted links.
Purpose, retention & choices
Processing is limited to responding to your enquiry and our legitimate interests in running a secure editorial workflow. The required checkbox acknowledges these terms; it is not marketing consent. No newsletter subscription is created. Initial intake records expire after 180 days unless you agree a separate arrangement for selected work. You can request access, correction or deletion at hello@aegeanastraea.com; we may verify that the request comes from the submitter before acting. Published editorial content is separate from the private intake record.
Corrections & contact
For a factual correction, rights concern or privacy request, email hello@aegeanastraea.com with the relevant page or book title and sufficient detail to investigate. We assess substantiated corrections and identify material editorial updates. The main website privacy notice explains corporate contact, infrastructure and consent-based analytics. You may also contact the data-protection authority in your jurisdiction about a privacy complaint.
